S4E8: Open Lines – The Puppy Play Episode

Send us a text

On this Open Lines episode of DGP, we are discussing  puppy play, puppy hoods, wagging tails, barking and obedience.  I am joined by two personal friends who sit down to tell me what attracted them to the culture of puppy play and why it is so damn popular.

Puppy (or pup) play is a type of role-play behavior, in the outskirts of the BDSM community, in which adult humans adopt the characteristics of dogs.  But just as with canines, there are hierarchies and roles. Spike, whom I’ve known for years, is a pup handler, a person who enjoys role-playing as someone who takes care of a pup. His fiancé, Strike, is an alpha pup, a more dominant pup among other pups or a pack setting.

It sounds like a lot to wrap your head around but imagine taking a break from stresses of your life, clearing your mind, lowering your defenses and being taken care of. Oh and let’s not forget an endless amount of attention, cuddling and treats! It is undeniable that there a psychological appeal that has attracted more people to puppy play and has also given its practice more attention. Listen and enjoy!
